Head Chef

We are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic, motivated and talented Head Chef to join our client’s team based at this independent school in South East London.

Catering for approx. 1200 pupils as well as staff, this is a busy high volume kitchen. As well as core feeding, the catering department provides hospitality for parents’ evenings, sports days and functions/events.

As the Head Chef, you will be
* working alongside the GM and managing a kitchen team of 6
* producing high standard freshly prepared food
* creative and inventive with ingredients to ensure there is minimum food waste
* Financial aware

Working hours are Monday to Friday, 40 hrs per week. This is a 50 week contract

As our ideal candidate, you would be
* An existing Head Chef with a proven work background
* Experienced in education or high volume catering
* Qualified to NVQ 1/2/3 or C&G equivalents
* A strong leader with the ability to lead, manage and develop a team
* Genuinely passionate about food and ingredients
* Up to date with food trends and concepts
* Organised and able to work under pressure whilst remaining calm
* Friendly and flexible with a positive can do attitude
